LPFM RADIO FREQUENCY FINDER

The Channel Finder tool for Low Power FM (LPFM) has been crafted to assist prospective applicants in easily pinpointing FM broadcast channels suitable for LPFM stations in their localities. This tool integrates modifications mandated by the Local Community Radio Act of 2010, Pub. Law 111-371. Notably, it eliminates spacing requirements for third-adjacent channel LPFM, with exceptions to protect Canadian or Mexican stations or FM broadcast stations known for hosting a radio reading service.

This search tool doesn’t encompass all factors influencing FM band broadcasting, such as terrain effects or interference from distant stations on the same or adjacent channels with proper spacing. Additionally, the LPFM Channel Finder doesn’t address the necessary protection for FM translator and FM Booster input signals, as detailed in the Sixth Order on Reconsideration in Dockets 99-25 and 07-172, along with the related October 18, 2013 Public Notice.

Note:ย  The 2023 Filing window has closed.ย  While this search tool remains active, the FCC is no longer accepting applications for new LPFM radio stations at this time.ย  The next filing window will likely be in 2033.ย  It could be sooner, however, they are not scheduled more than six months in advance.ย  Check our website for future updates.ย  Please do not inquire about filing new LPFM applications until there has been a filing window announced on this website.ย  ย You can stay up to date on the latest with LPFM Radio in our group on Facebook.ย

Licensing actions before or during an LPFM application filing window may also impact potential LPFM channels. Furthermore, the tool doesn’t consider factors beyond the FCC’s jurisdiction affecting site suitability, including local zoning or building codes, environmental considerations, and power access. Applicants are strongly advised to consider all relevant factors when choosing channels and sites.

Concerning Latitude and Longitude Coordinates, applicants are responsible for accurately determining the NAD.ย  If the search doesn’t display an available channel, don’t lose hope! Our experienced Engineers may find a suitable option. The LPFM Channel Finder is a preliminary quick check and should not be solely relied upon to determine the feasibility of a Low Power FM Radio Station. Please contact Nexus Broadcast after completing this LPFM Radio Frequency Search.
