TV news crews and mobile production teams have a new compact power option. SWIT has released the MINO-A series, a pair of Gold Mount batteries sized for smaller camera rigs, field monitors, wireless video links and other portable gear. Both models are on sale now.
The larger MINO-A210 holds 210Wh and delivers more than 200W, or 16A, continuously. It measures 105 x 79.6 x 81.8 mm (4.13 x 3.13 x 3.22 inches) and weighs 1,056 grams (2.33 pounds). SWIT said the combination of size, capacity and current makes it a fit for demanding camera builds that need longer runtime without stepping up to a full-size Gold Mount pack.
The MINO-A140 is aimed at lighter setups. It stores 140Wh, supplies more than 150W, or 12A, continuously, and shares the same footprint at a shorter 63.5 mm (2.50 inches) tall. It weighs 747 grams (1.65 pounds). SWIT describes it as one of the smallest Gold Mount batteries in its capacity class.
Charging differs between the two. Through Gold Mount or D-Tap, the MINO-A210 accepts up to 100W (6A) and fills in about three hours, while the MINO-A140 accepts up to 50W (3A) and takes about 3.5 hours. Either can also charge over USB-C PD at up to 48W; a USB-C charge of the MINO-A210 takes about five hours. The batteries also work with Anton/Bauer Gold Mount chargers.
For powering accessories, each battery offers a 65W USB-C PD output for laptops and tablets, a D-Tap port rated up to 120W that doubles as a charging input, and a 5V/2A/10W USB-A port for low-draw devices. SWIT rates both for startup down to -20 degrees C (-4 degrees F) and for drops of up to 1.2 m (3.9 feet).
