Gemini XIII folds United Stations Radio Networks into Gemini Networks

USRN name retired as Gemini Networks takes over

Stations that carry programming from United Stations Radio Networks will soon see a different name on it. Owner Gemini XIII is retiring the USRN brand and merging the network, along with Gemini XIII Podcast Network and YEA Podcast Network, into a new company called Gemini Networks.

The new company puts broadcast radio syndication, podcasts, streaming, YouTube and social media under a single management team. USRN's programming and services are now offered as part of the Gemini Networks lineup.

Gemini XIII said the change will not affect day-to-day operations for existing United Stations customers and partners. Current relationships, programming and support are to continue without interruption, according to the company. Key-United, the joint sales venture with Key Networks, also stays in place.

United Stations Radio Networks was started in 1994 by Nick Verbitsky and Dick Clark. Verbitsky sold it in July 2023 to Gemini XIII and its CEO, Spencer Brown, on terms that were not made public.

Charles Steinhauer, president and COO of Gemini Networks, framed the merger as a way to package audio across platforms. "There's a real opportunity for our programming, talent and advertising partners to leverage these assets together in a complementary fashion," he said.

Affiliates with questions about clearances, barter inventory or contract paperwork tied to USRN programming may want to confirm details with their network contacts as the rebrand takes effect.
