Hope Media Group, the Houston-based Christian broadcaster behind 89.3 KSBJ and the Way-FM network, has eliminated the job of chief of content, and the executive who held it, Scott Herrold, is leaving the organization.
Herrold said he will wrap up his work over the next three weeks. "After four years with Hope Media Group, my chapter here is coming to a close. My position as Chief of Content has been eliminated, and I'll be wrapping up my time over the next three weeks," he said. "I love this team and I'm walking away with a grateful heart and a whole lot of respect for some of the smartest leaders I've ever worked with. I'm grateful."
Herrold arrived in January 2023 as chief of programming, responsible for the programming teams at Christian AC KSBJ, Way-FM, the Spanish-language Christian service Vida Unida and the group's Creative Audio Team. In March 2025 he became chief of content, a role that added Hope Media Group's streaming and digital brands to his portfolio. Hope Media Group has not said how those responsibilities will be divided after he leaves.
Before Hope Media Group, Herrold spent 15 years as program director and morning host of Christian AC SOS Radio, based at 90.5 KSOS in Las Vegas and carried on stations in nine states. Earlier in his career he worked in promotions, engineering and on air at stations including WIOG in Saginaw, WDRQ and WDVD in Detroit, and KHTT in Tulsa.
